Every product you buy these days, or at least some variant of it, seems to have been made in China. With a population that dwarfs that of any other nation in the world and rather relaxed labor standards, China has become the global center of manufacturing for mass production. And just when you thought that Acai berries, which are indigenous to the Amazon rainforests, could not involve the chinese mega-machine, Acai berry extract products are now somehow being produced there.
But mass production does not often translate into superior quality, and this is certainly the case with Chinese Acai berry products.
Because of the popularity of Acai products in today's health and supplement-rich market, many bargain-minded manufacturers have outsourced their Acai berry farming to China. This translates into Acai palm trees, that normally thrive only along the banks of the Amazon river, being grown in Chinese harvesting greenhouses to accelerate the amount of Acai berries that one can yield versus relying solely on Brazil's limited supply.
What these manufacturers do not understand, however, is that the Acai palm alone cannot account for the amazing properties of its fruit. The nutrients that eventually make their way into Acai berries are drawn from the water of the Amazon river, whose unique properties are what make the Acai berry so incredible. The result? Chinese-grown Acai berries are far less nutritious and effective.
Even more alarming is that Chinese farmers rely on insecticides and various types of fertilizers to grow the Acai palms, which could lead to chemical poisoning and other ailments associated with the use of these artificial methods.
Too many dishonest manufacturers are even now taking advantage of hapless consumers by putting these inferior products on the market, hoping that people will snap up anything that contains the word "Acai" in its list of ingredients.
Be careful where you buy your Acai berry extract products. Prioritize quality over quantity, and make sure you only order the genuine article, instead of a cheap Chinese knockoff.
Here is a list of reliable sites that sell quality - Acai berry products

china technology

When China decided to build a railroad line, which would be nearly 16,000 feet high a special locomotive had to be built to run at these high altitudes, as well as oxygen had to be secured for those passengers and locomotive engineers. This technology had to be borrowed from other sources and luckily there was a multinational corporation, which was able to handle this.
General Electric has built the GE C38AChe, which is a high altitude locomotive, which runs at optimum even at high elevations. In fact, General Electric has built 78 of these GE C38AChe Locomotives. Each one having 4000 hp and to they are an engineering marvel of technology both old and new. If you look at the GE C38AChe, you see that slightly resembles a locomotive, but it's guts are state-of-the-art technology on the leading edge of locomotive engineering. Here's a picture;
http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=133146
The GE C38AChe is able to operate over the Himalayas, something no other rail line has ever achieved and a bold step for trade indeed. Apparently, whether it is building a Treasure Fleet, Great Wall, Massive Cities or even a railroad; China thinks big and boldly. Using the best technology in the World, China is making the grade. Consider all this in 2006.

china growth

What are the reasons for China's massive population growth?
I have some speech thing for World Geography tomorrow. It's primarily about the reasons/causes of the huge population growth in China. I've searched all over Google and other websites, but I can't seem to find anything. Please help.
Answer above me is on the right track. China's population growth has slowed dramatically in the past 30 years or so, but it was huge and rapidly growing before then.
China has been a mostly agrarian, non-industrial society for the past 5000 years. More babies equals more family farm workers. Also, chinese tradition requires children to support their parents when they get older. More babies equals better retirement plan. But only sons provide the retirement plan, so eveyone has twice as many kids. Oh, and high infant mortality rates mean they have even more than that.
No primogeniture. Europe made this law very early, in medieval times. It means that the eldest son inherits the family's land, and the younger sons are on their own. This makes a huge difference, because without it, each generation slices the land into smaller pieces, eventually making them too small and inefficient to feed their owners. But the typical peasant's response to this plight is to have more kids, so they could wring more productivity from the land.

china view

When seen from above the Great Wall of China looks like a dragon zigzagging over mountain tops. The chinese call it “Wan Li Chang Cheng” which means “Wall of 10,000 Li”. (10,000 li= 5,000 km)
Actually, the Great Wall is 7,200 km long. Height wise, it is 4.5m to 9m. Depth wise, it is 4.5m to 8m. The entire structure was built by hand using stone, bricks, soil, sand, straw, wood, clay or whatever was available depending on the terrain.
Three main Chinese dynasties -- the Qin (B.C 221-207), Han (B.C 206- A.D 220) and Ming (A.D 1368-1644) -- built the Great Wall of China. All had one purpose -- to keep out the “barbaric” Huns in the north who frequently invaded Chinese border areas. In all, tens of millions of people labored on the Great Wall. Many died.
Qin Shi Huang, the First Emperor of China, is credited with kicking off this massive project 2,200 years ago. By connecting old sections with newly built ones, the Qin Dynasty erected 4,800km of wall in 10 years – more than one km a day!
After the Qin, the Han Dynasty extended the Great Wall through the Gobi Desert. Watchtowers were added to the walls. Smoke spirals produced by burning wood and straw mixed with wolf dung functioned as an alarm system. One smoke column meant a force of 100 men was attacking; two columns signaled that more than 500 men were approaching, and so on.
The Great Wall of China we know today was built by the Ming Dynasty 600 years ago. By then the ancient wall was in ruins. The Ming rulers rebuilt most of it over a period of 200 years. That the wall is still in good condition today is due to an invention of that era, the adding of rice flour to make super strong bricks and mortar!

Buying nursling dress is fun, but the vast array of goods for little file can be a bit irresistible at first. There are so many cuddlesome minuscule pink, frilled movables to espouse from, it's hard not to get grabbed up and go overboard. However, you can take some steps to buy infantile clothing sensibly to acquire what you languish at a price you can live with.
Don't forget that comfort is the key. When you're purchasing for your baby girl, it's crucial that the baby's boiler suit cheer up level should come. Get dresses and clothing that has limber waistbands, especially in the basic. Soft cloth like unginned cotton is ever a good choice, and they deem much correct opposing baby's gossamer skin.
Keep it common. Those baby dresses are charming, but you certainly don't desiderate a duplicate hat, hair bow, hose and footwear to go with that baby adorn. Remain with other dresses that are easy to contest and have on. You'll need something easy to attire her in when you're sleep-deprived.
Find clothing that's laid-back to conquer management of. Cute made of linen dresses may be in appearance this temper, but you won't want to iron it before or admit it to the dry cleansing agent after every use. So attach with things that are engine laundry.
Make sure that her outfits are safe. Baby girl clothes are disreputable for having lots of buttons, tape and applique, but these can practically cause bother if they're in an area that baby can get hold of. Make sure that whole's firmly fixed on and out of her contact.
Anna Su has been in the wholesale business since 2001. She became one of the largest baby clothes importers in China.

China's distinctive architecture makes up an important part of China's splendid civilization. Together with Western and Muslim architecture, the three styles comprise the world's major architectural systems.
In the Paleolithic Age, chinese ancestors lived on fishery and hunting, and were sheltered in trees and caves. In the Neolithic Age, Chinese ancestors engaged in raising animals and farming, and settled down by digging caves and by building simple houses with twigs and lumber, thus commencing their architectural activities.During the 3,000 years of the feudalist society, Chinese ancient architecture formulated gradually its unique system, coupled with a considerable progress in urban planning, garden designing, and house construction technique. In 221 B.C., the First Emperor of the Qin Empire mobilized the resources of the country to do construction works on a massive scale, including A' Fang Palace, the Emperor's Mausoleum, the Great Wall and the Dujiangyan Water-Conservancy Project. In the Later dynasties, many more massive construction works of lasting fame were carried out.
China's wood frameworks are unique in the world. They reflect the values, aesthetic and ethical standard of the Chinese people. Chinese architecture is rooted in cultural tradition and features several characteristics. It highlights absolute imperial power and strict social status. The best examples of this can be found in the palaces and forbidden cities. Chinese architecture also stresses overall beauty and its axial layout pattern is widely used in buildings. The Chinese style also incorporates elements of nature and emphasizes a graceful, reserved and easy-going beauty. Apart from the Han ethnic group, architecture in the ethnic minorities is also diversified and distinct.
Chinese architecture can be categorized into imperial palaces, religious temples, ancient gardens, tombs group and ordinary ethnic residences.

A Brief History of Miss China
When Zhuo Ling, a native of Shangai, was named Miss China Universe of 2002, she, an attractive fashion model, became the first chinese woman to win a modern beauty contest in the People's Republic of China, one of the world's last Marxist nations in the 21st century. But there's more, of course. In the previous decades, the Communist rule, as a number of Marxist states in Eastern Europe, among them the USSR and the Democratic German Republic, did not send entries to Miss Universe and Miss World.
China Under Mao Zedong
After China's independence in 1949, Madame Chiang Ching, "First Lady of the Cultural Revolution" (1966-76), and Mao Tse-tung (or Mao Zedong), who said which "women hold up half the sky", proclaimed total war against the capitalistic traditions: tourism, beauty pageants, and western clothes. During that time, the cult of beauty was replaced by the cult of Mao Tse-tung. The People's Republic underwent over 25 years of Maoist government.
In contrast to the People's Republic, Taiwan sent a handful of contestants to Miss Universe and other international pageants in the 1960s. Against all odds, Taiwan became one of the world's beauty pageant superpowers, along with the United States, Argentina, and Britain. On November 9, 1961, Grace Li Shiu-ying was first runner-up to Miss World in the United Kingdom. During that year, Lily Wang Li-ling was a semi-finalist at the Miss Universe contest in America. In addition, Dolly Ma was one of 15 semi-finalists in the First Miss International in Long Beach, California. On July 14, 1962, Miss Taiwan Universe Helen Liu Shiu-man finished in the Top Four in Miami Beach, Florida. Nine months later, Helen was first runner up to Miss Asia-Pacific in Tokyo.
At the end of 1964, Taiwan's delegate Linda Lin finished third in London, behind Great Britain and Argentina. Meanwhile, four months ago, Lana Yu Yi made the Top Five in Miss Universe 1964. Otherwise, Macy Shih earned the 1968 Miss Asia-Pacific title in Quezon City, Philippines. Finally, Patsy Wu was crowned Miss Queen of the Pacific Quest in Australia in 1969.
During Cold War, Taiwan was not the only Chinese territory in the pageants. Hong Kong, a British dependency from 1842 until July 1, 1997, also competed in the United States and London. But there's more. The 24th Miss Universe was held in 1976 in Hong Kong, a few kilometers from the People's Republic. In the subsequent decade, Eric Morley, Chairman of the Miss World Organization, chose HK to host the 1989 Miss World.
Goodbye Madame Chiang Ching!
After the fall of Madame Chiang Ching, an admirer of Sweden's actress Greta Garbo, the new Chinese leaders, among them Deng Xiaoping, put an end to the Maoist policies. However, despite the end of Maoism, women weren't allowed to compete in beauty pageants. That's why China, on the other hand, decline to participate in the global contests in the 1990s.It was not until 2002 that the Marxist country held its first beauty contest. Since then, China was one of the last places, apart from the likes Vietnam, Cambodia and Mongolia, in the world to hold a contest. Before the Communists came to power in 1949, this nation had had several beauty queens.
Zhuo Ling -- A Pioneer in China
Against all odds, Zhuo Ling was crowned Miss China Universe in the early 2000s. After winning the crown, she went to San Juan de Puerto Rico, host to Miss Universe 2002. Without the financial advantages of so many of the world's beauty queens producers, Miss China participated in Miss Universe, where she had three tests: firstly, a physical fitness evaluation, (finished fourth); an evening gown competition (first place);and finally an exhaustive personal interview with 12 international judges, among them Tatjana Patitz (fashion model), Marisol Malaret (former Miss Universe), and Christopher McDonald (performer). During an interview for the New York Times, she told, "Generally when you're picked as your country's representative there are some special events and you're given some tutoring, I didn't have a chance to help my country. And I didn't have a former Miss China at my side. It made me pretty sad.''
But China gave a more than satisfactory showing in its first-ever involvement in MU in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Surprisingly, Ms. Zhung, who speaks fluent English with an Asian accent, made history when was first runner-up, ahead of some of Latin America's most beautiful girls, among them Vanessa Mendoza (Colombia's representative) and Cinthya Lander (Miss Venezuela). According to the new results, she finished second, behind Justine Pasek, Miss Panama (Russia's Oxana Fedorova had won but she was disqualified by the Miss Universe Organization).
Miss China
Once the People's Republic of China became a member of the Miss Universe Pageant, several beauty contests popped up like never before in Shangai, Beijing and other Chinese metropolises, as well as Tibet. At the same time, Amelia Vega, 2003 Miss Universe, arrived in China for a visit. Likewise, it hosted a host of global events, including Miss International (2004, 2006, 2008, 2009 ), and Miss Tourism Queen International (2004-2009 ). Since November 2003, up to 800 foreign beauty queens have arrived to Beijing and other cities, including entries from countries which does not have diplomatic ties with the People's Republic.
From 2003 to 2005, Hainan, a tropical island in the Chinese Sea, hosted the Miss World competitions. Two years on, at the end of 2007, Zhang Zi-lin, a well-trained contestant, was crowned as the new Miss World, making it the first Communist country in the world to produce a Miss World title since 1989.

china china

We seem to love family sagas. Even though there's no real emotional connection between Jimmy the former Red Guard member finding true love after Mao's death and the downfall of the Gang of Four and Fong Tai his great-grandfather whose story begins the book, we enjoy the story better because they are family -- though neither would understand the other's world. In their own way, though, both are rebels.
And although this is a novel dramatizing China's modern history through their eyes, all the characters are torn and split in some way -- perhaps to reflect how China itself is divided in many way.
Fong Tai was born and lived while China was still ruled by Dowager Empress of the Ching Dynasty. The opening chapters are interesting pictures of a world soon to vanish -- feudal China as it must have existed for centuries.
Yet he's not a simple product of his culture, at least not after spending time as a student in America. Although he no doesn't understand it, that experience makes him partly American. He returns to China with a double perspective most chinese lack.
And, as was the custom for centuries, he's forced to marry a woman he's never met. And through him we feel the pressure this forced on men -- to sexually perform their first night with a woman whose face they never even see prior to the marriage.
He's different. He wants a woman, but one he chooses. As he does during his stay to attend college in America. And after marriage he chooses a prostitute, but not just any old prostitute. Rose is an accomplished martial artists and will accept as customers only men who can defeat her in a sword fight.
Yet his emotional sincerity wins her without risking his life. And so eventually he has his daughter Brigid.
Brigid spends her early childhood in China, but when he sees the Boxer Rebellion approaching, Fong Tai sends her and his wife (who's uncharacteristically accepted his daughter by Rose so strong is her need to love someone) to France to escape the war and chaos.
Brigid doesn't return to China until she's a young woman, so she too is psychologically marked by Western culture. She plays a role in the founding of the Chinese Republic under Sun Yat Sen and eventually Chiang Kai-Shek. Yet she is damned to love a man she can never have.
Her daughter Mabel leads many double live. When just fifteen during World War 2 she is a wild B girl earning money from the American soldiers sent to China. Yet to her mother she pretends to be an obedient little school girl. And eventually she becomes a top worker in the People's Republic.
Her sons become Red Guards, though Jimmy's heart is on a girl, not class warfare.
I've left out a thousand characters, events and subplots. All are worth reading.
Although 92, the author is apparently still alive. It'd be interesting if he wrote a sequel about Jimmy and Do Do's child growing up in today's China.
Richard Stooker is a writer with a long time interest in fitness, health, anti-aging and nutrition. He also recommends keeping freeze dried foods and making sure you have freeze dried food storage supply in your home and car in case of emergencies.
