How long would it take from hk to shanghai via trian? I will be going there october for the shanghai gp, is the regal shanghai east asia hotel close to the circuit? I am planning on staying there a week how much should i bring?
I was just down there from Shanghai, I flew to Shenzhen and took the bus across the border to save money, but going home I flew, the price was not bad at all, the train is an overnight one, how much money? that depends on what you want to do and where you will eat and all that, but for a week stay I would think $500 would be plenty, as far as where your hotel is I can't help you there sorry

Good Shanghai hotels?
I'm going to Shanghai this May and I'm currently looking for hotels to book. I'd really like a hotel that has a nice view of the Pudong skyline or the Bund but nothing too pricey. And when should I start booking? I know that in summer the hotels get filled up really quickly.

The Westin Bund is Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry expensive. The Peace is closed. A good mid range is Charms, 50 yards of nanjing road, The park on nanjing road is a little better, a little more expensive - go to www.elong.net and it will find you a decent hotel at the best price available. I usually stay at Charms, about 500 RMB or 70 us dollars
